The Kuhli Loach (Pangio kuhlii/semicincta) is a peaceful, eel-like freshwater fish popular in community and planted aquariums. Its slender, brown to burgundy body with bright orange stripes makes it a striking addition. Native to Malaysia and nearby regions, the Kuhli Loach thrives in soft, slightly acidic water and requires a minimum group of 6 fish to feel secure. This shy, nocturnal species enjoys hiding among plants, driftwood, or substrate. It is ideal for nano, community, and well-planted aquariums with stable water conditions.
