The Fittonia 'White Tiger', also known as the Mosaic Plant or Nerve Plant, brings striking visual appeal to any indoor space with its deep green foliage adorned with bold white netted veins. This compact tropical plant thrives in bright, indirect light and prefers consistently moist, well-drained soil with high humidity—making it ideal for terrariums, tabletops, and humid environments like bathrooms. Its low, spreading growth habit adds texture and dimension to your décor while remaining relatively low-maintenance. Perfect for plant enthusiasts seeking an eye-catching accent piece. Note: Not suitable for homes with pets.
Appearance: Deep green, oval leaves with prominent white veining, sometimes called "Tiger Skin".
Growth Habit: Low-growing, spreading, and trailing, forming a dense mat.
Size: Typically grows 4-6 inches (10-15 cm) tall and can spread wider.
Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun.
Water: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy; allow topsoil to dry slightly between waterings.
Humidity: High humidity is essential, making terrariums ideal.
Soil: Well-draining potting mix.
Temperature: Warm temperatures (above 15°C / 59°F).
Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a diluted liquid fertilizer; less in winter.
Propagation
Fittonia is very easy to propagate through stem cuttings. Choose a healthy stem with at least 2–3 nodes, cut below a node, and root it in water or moist soil. Roots usually develop within 1–2 weeks. Transplant the cutting once the roots grow stronger.
Ideal for Terrariums & Vivariums Its humidity-loving nature makes it ideal for closed ecosystems.
Note that it's not pet-friendly, so place it away from curious pets and children.
