Fittonia Pink Forest Flame

Fittonia 'Pink Angel' is a striking low-growing houseplant featuring dark green leaves intricately veined with vibrant pink, creating a delicate nervous system-like pattern. This South American rainforest native thrives in high humidity and bright indirect light, making it ideal for terrariums or shaded indoor spaces. Keep soil consistently moist but well-draining for best results. Appearance: Dark green leaves with prominent pink veins.

Size: Compact, usually growing 3-6 inches tall and spreading wider.

Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun. North-facing windows are often ideal.

Water: Keep soil moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry. It's a great "indicator" plant as it droops dramatically when thirsty but perks up quickly.

Humidity: High humidity is crucial. Mist frequently, use a pebble tray with water, or grow in a terrarium. Bathrooms are great locations.

Soil: Well-draining potting mix, possibly with peat moss.

Temperature: Prefers 60-80°F (15-27°C) and dislikes cold drafts.

Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a diluted liquid fertilizer; less in winter. 

Propagation

Fittonia is very easy to propagate through stem cuttings. Choose a healthy stem with at least 2–3 nodes, cut below a node, and root it in water or moist soil. Roots usually develop within 1–2 weeks. Transplant the cutting once the roots grow stronger.

Ideal for terrariums, bottle gardens, bathrooms, or as a colorful accent in plant displays.
